Garden Equipment

Purchasing garden equipment can cost a lot of money so it makes sense to maintain it properly to protect the investment. Perhaps the most important tip regards storage: do not leave your tools outside. Instead, keep them in a dry place such as a shed or garage.

Keeping garden equipment out of the rain will not protect them completely from rust. Purchase a protective coating to apply to the surface. Some coatings are biodegradable and do not use pollutants.

A gardener with tools that have wooden handles should take extra steps to keep them in good shape. If the handles become rough sand them down. This will help prevent splintering of the wood.
