Garden lighting is an important part of landscaping. In temperate weather gardeners want to enjoy their garden during the day and during the evening. Only with the proper lighting can the work be fully appreciated at night.

Environmentalists are promoting low-voltage garden lighting options. In addition, solar garden lights are becoming more popular. Solar lights can be used for both commercial and residential landscape lighting.

While most gardeners enjoy taking care of the garden on their own, it is usually best to hire a professional to install garden lighting. Any time electricity is involved in a do it yourself project there is a risk of shock or electrocution. Ask the retailer for a list of recommended electricians.
